It's Easy and Free

There is no cost to deposit your plasmids to Addgene. Addgene will store your samples in triplicate (including one at an offsite backup facility), sequence key regions of your plasmid for validation, and handle the appropriate Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) with your institution. Additionally, Addgene will create a webpage for your lab where you can direct scientists to request your plasmids.

Scientists requesting your plasmids will benefit from quick turnaround times, excellent customer service from PhD scientists, and the ability to find your plasmids and easily request them along with necessary plasmids from other labs.

Getting Started

First select the plasmids you would like to deposit. We encourage deposits of published plasmids, pre-publication plasmids, and useful unpublished plasmids. Most labs start by depositing a few of their most frequently requested plasmids. Don't worry if your lab has a large plasmid collection. It's best to start small - you can always add more later.

Next, you can submit plasmids through our online process or by entering plasmid information in our spreadsheet and emailing it to us - simply click the button below to get started. Any questions about the depositing process? We're here to help! Please see our Help Center Articles, email deposit@addgene.org to be paired with an Add gene scientist, or read our deposit process walk-through.
